The Role
Advanced Strategic Capabilities Accelerator (ASCA) is seeking a highly motivated and passionate Director of Co-Design to provide leadership, strategic oversight and stewardship to ASCA’s Co-Design directorate.
As a core function of the Capability Transition Branch, this position is responsible for enabling the facilitation, development and transition of novel solutions to integrated delivery teams, shaped and informed by Defence driven priorities. In addition, the successful incumbent will lead a team of resources and serve as the principle point of contact for internal and external stakeholder engagement for the duration of Co-Design.
Applicants may be able to commence on a “Negative Vetting Level 2” security clearance, however a Positive Vetting clearance is required for the role.
This role is eligible for an Individual Flexibility Arrangement which allows Defence to provide additional remuneration to the base salary and/or the variation of other conditions provided for in the Defence Enterprise Agreement (DEA). For further information, please contact the contact officer.

Our Ideal Candidate
Our ideal candidate will be able to demonstrate the following:
* Lead the Co-Design directorate facilitating collaboration between Defence, industry, government agencies, and additional stakeholders.
* Design, Develop and implement strategies from first principles to ensure alignment between project objectives, stakeholder requirements (e.g. CONOPS), and Defence industry standards.
* Coordinate cross-functional teams to integrate diverse perspectives and expertise into the design process, ensuring the delivery of comprehensive and effective solutions.
* Serve as the primary point of contact for industry stakeholders, fostering strong relationships and ensuring clear communication channels throughout the Co-Design process.
* Collaborate with project managers, engineers, designers, and subject matter experts to identify opportunities and efficiencies that may be required through exploratory prototyping techniques.
* Provide leadership and guidance to team members, fostering a culture of collaboration, creativity, and continuous improvement.
* Stay informed of emerging technologies, industry trends, and regulatory requirements relevant to Defence initiatives.
* Ensure compliance with all relevant regulations, standards, and contractual obligations throughout the co-design process.
* Prepare and deliver workshops, presentations, reports, and other communications to stakeholders that facilitate solutions, communicate project status, milestones, and outcomes effectively.
* Continuously evaluate and refine the Co-Design process and techniques to enhance efficiency, effectiveness, and stakeholder satisfaction.
