We’re looking for an experienced and motivated Property Development / Excavator Operator for Solterra’s newest cropping aggregation in Southern New South Wales. Spanning around 9,500ha, this farm offers scale, efficiency, and high-quality soil, making it well-suited for broadacre cropping.
This region provides access to key agricultural services and a welcoming rural community. Nearby towns offer schools, healthcare, and essential amenities, making it a great place to live and work.
We’re seeking a competent and reliable Excavator Driver with Property Development skills with a strong focus on earthworks, drainage, property development, and infrastructure maintenance. In this role, you’ll assist with digging, trenching, and maintaining irrigation channels, as well as other key infrastructure to support daily operations on a large-scale farming property. You’ll also help with general machinery upkeep and ensure all work is completed safely and efficiently as part of a collaborative team.

Reporting to the Farm Manager, you’ll play a key role in developing and maintaining essential farm infrastructure.
Key responsibilities include:
* Operating an excavator to dig trenches, clear drainage channels, and complete general earthworks.
* Assisting with land preparation, erosion control, and maintaining irrigation infrastructure.
* Performing daily pre-start checks and routine maintenance on the excavator and other machinery.
* Working closely with the farm team to prioritise excavation and drainage tasks based on seasonal and operational needs.
* Ensuring compliance with safety regulations and farm standards while operating heavy machinery.
* Assisting with broader farm operations when required, particularly during peak seasons.
About You
* You are an experienced Excavator Driver with a valid machinery ticket or relevant experience in earthworks and drainage maintenance.
* You have a strong focus on safety and follow best practices when operating heavy machinery.
* You work well independently and in a team environment, adapting to changing priorities.
* You take pride in maintaining high-quality drainage and farm infrastructure.
* You are self-motivated and proactive, ensuring tasks are completed efficiently and to a high standard.
* Experience with other earthmoving equipment (e.g., dozers, graders, loaders) is beneficial but not essential.
* Full Australian working rights.
