About the role and team
We have a new opportunity for a Legal Assistant to join our growing General Insurance section, to based in our Brisbane office.
This role provides administrative support to a Partner and team of Lawyers in the General Insurance team. This is a fantastic opportunity to hit the ground running and be part of a friendly, fast-paced team.
You will be involved in a range of matters, including but not limited to:
* telephone handling for the team;
* organising calendars and monitoring inboxes;
* sending emails, letters and briefs;
* saving and distributing incoming mail;
* filing, scanning and creating briefs;
* drafting documentation as required;
* file opening, conflict searches and closing files;
* preparing reports;
* billing and submitting invoices;
* reviewing, receipting and EFT of trust payments;
* address/ASIC/rego/property/title searches;
* creating paralegal roster;
* organising team meetings and events;
* liaising with internal and external stakeholders;
* assisting other legal assistants as required; and
* other ad-hoc administration duties as required.
About you
You will ideally have the following skills and experience:
* a minimum of two years of legal assistant experience;
* experience in a busy insurance litigation practice is desirable;
* outstanding organisational skills;
* excellent communication skills;
* a strong ability to prioritise and meet deadlines; and
* experience with Filesite and Aderant is preferred but not required.
