ARAS is seeking applications from suitably qualified candidates for the role of Advocate - Finance Specialist. This role requires a thorough understanding of finance and accounting principles and the ability to read and interpret financial statements. The Finance Advocate is responsible for providing support to older people receiving home aged care services, to assist them with a better understanding of costs and pricing and consumer choice, as well as resolving financial discrepancies with home aged care service providers if required.The role will also support and educate fellow advocates on home care funding, as well as deliver individualised advocacy and community group information sessions relating to home care service costs.Specific employment requirements•Bachelor qualification in a finance related discipline.•Demonstrated ability to interpret financial information and communicate it in a clear and simple manner.•Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively with finance departments, and resolve outcome for clients. •National Police Clearance (less than 12 months old)•Working with Vulnerable Persons Clearance (less than 12 months old).•Be fully vaccinated against COVID and Influenza.•Current driving license and willingness to drive for work purposes.About the organisationThe ARAS website provides more information about the range of work that ARAS undertakes, including advocacy, information and education sessions.
