Job Summary
:
As a senior process engineer, you will be working as part of a team under the supervision of the Lead Process Engineer to deliver studies and projects for our mining customers where you will be working with other engineering disciplines, procurement and construction to deliver projects that meet and exceed our customer’s expectations for quality, cost, schedule, safety and benefit to their business.
As you gain experience with Bechtel, there will be opportunities to move up into Lead Process Engineer roles.
Major Responsibilities:
1. Assist the Lead Process Engineer to lead the team, such as by taking responsibility for a portion of the design and by mentoring the more-junior team members.
2. Develop and check the process deliverables that are typical of detailed engineering (such as design criteria, mass & energy balances, process flow diagrams, equipment sizing calculations, P&IDs, control philosophy).
3. Coordinate with other engineering disciplines, procurement, construction, vendors, consultants, subject matter experts and client teams to deliver the project successfully.
4. Contribute to the review and optimizations of project design, cost, safety, constructability, and schedule.
Education and Experience Requirements:
5. Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) in Mineral Processing, Metallurgy or Chemical Engineering and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:
6. At least 5 years of experience as an engineer working in detailed design in the minerals industry, including direct experience in developing the typical detailed engineering deliverables.
7. Expertise as a Subject Matter Expert in particular fields of mineral extraction will be highly regarded.
8. Well-developed skills in teamwork, leadership, communication and problem solving.
