An exciting opportunity exists for a Clinical Measurement Scientist – Senior (Respiratory/Sleep) to deliver high level Respiratory and Sleep clinical measurement services, involving complex caseloads, in accordance with contemporary clinical, professional and ethical standards, to stakeholders/customers of the Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service and Queensland Health. The Respiratory Investigation Unit provides a comprehensive range of routine and specialist diagnostic and treatment testing services including complex lung function and cardiopulmonary exercise testing. The Sleep Laboratory provides a comprehensive range of polysomnography monitoring, clinical inpatient and outpatient services including overnight investigation and treatment, non-invasive ventilation, a range of ward inpatient monitoring services, portable pulse oximetry, daytime sleep investigations including Maintenance of Wakefulness (MWT) and Multiple Sleep Latency Tests (MSLT), consultation and education services. The service is a designated prescriber centre for the Queensland Health Sleep Disorders Program.
Sunshine Coast Hospital and Health Service (SCHHS) is in southeast Queensland and extends through the coastal and hinterland areas from Caloundra in the south and Gympie in the north.

Key Responsibilities include:
1. Work with limited supervision to provide high quality respiratory and sleep clinical and technical diagnostic and treatment services, including a range of complex lung function testing, polysomnography and non-invasive ventilatory support therapies.
2. Apply professional judgement to complex caseloads in respiratory and sleep clinical measurement specialties, integrating evidence-based practice and adapting routine clinical practices in the support of the continuum of care.
3. Provide high level respiratory and sleep scientific clinical advice to professional and operational supervisors, relevant clinical and service managers/stakeholders regarding service delivery.
4. Monitor and report on clinical procedures and outcomes within the clinical service area and actively participate in initiating, developing and implementing quality and service improvement activities.
Remuneration value up to $152 776 p.a., comprising salary between $124 435 - $133 901 p.a., employer contribution to superannuation (up to 12.75%) and annual leave loading (17.5%) (HP4 (temporary position available for 12 months with possibility of extension).
