Your new role
Asernance Manager, you will be part of a professional team that maintains and strengthens theernance and accountability arrangements of the Chief Member Officer and Chief Officer Retirement, and their respective domains (the Member Group).
Working closely with senior stakeholders, this role will contribute to achieving the Member domain's priority to matureernance and continue to embed risk management and culture across domain practices (one of five domain priorities).
You will have strong knowledge and experience in corporateernance and the superannuation regulatory framework or other highly regulated environment. The ability to provide constructive challenge, oversight and advice to influence senior stakeholders is essential.
Key responsibilities include:
1. Review papers, support good and timely decision-making, advise on delegations, provide guidance on RAPID tool usage, and supportpliance with legislation and organisational frameworks, policies and standards.
2. Support implementation of the Financial Accountability Regime, including maintaining executive 'accountability statements' and delegated responsibilities through the Member and Retirement domains' senior leadership teams.
3. Lead the scoping, assessment and ongoing review of 'reasonable steps' to support the Chief Member Officer and Chief Officer Retirement in discharging their accountabilities under the Financial Accountability Regime.
4. Support good record keeping and contribute to regulatory responses regarding decision-making and reasonable steps.
5. Advocate for better practice inernance bymunicating with influence, proactively identifying opportunities to strengthen existing business practice, and staying abreast of industry trends.
6. Act as a trusted advisor to the senior leaders by supporting strongernance and decision-making practices across Member Group initiatives.
7. Build and maintain relationships with internal and external stakeholders (including regulators).
8. Engage stakeholders and work collaboratively across the Member Group and AustralianSuper more broadly, supporting strongernance and decision-making practices across Member Group initiatives.
9. For the Retirement domain, act as a trustedernance advisor for the Chief Officer Retirement, facilitator for their chief management forum and for an external advisory forum, oversee performance of these forums within their charters, design work plans and agendas, write and review papers, and prepare minutes for the advisory forum.
What you'll need
10. 8 years+ experience in corporateernance in financial services or other highly regulated environment.
11. Tertiary qualification in the field of law, business studiesmerce or accounting.
12. Ability to understand, interpret and apply corporate policy, legislation and regulatory requirements.
13. Enquiring, curious, challenging and continuous improvement mindset.
14. Sophisticated written and oralmunication/interpersonal skills.
15. Well-developed analytical and research skills and strong attention to detail.
16. Ability to present ideas, perspectives and issues to senior stakeholders with influence.
17. Ability to provide constructive challenge, oversight and advice and to influence senior stakeholders.
18. Experience working with senior executives.
19. Desirable: Professional qualifications inernance AICDpany Directors Course orernance Institute.
20. Desirable: Knowledge of the superannuation regulatory framework.
