About the Role
The Administration and Stores Officer is responsible for undertaking a range of financial administration duties such as purchasing, accounts payable and receivable and reconciliations across teaching and research. This position contributes to the day-to-day operation of the Academic Unit’s Hetzel Store which includes stock control, receiving and distribution of goods and the safe storage of chemicals and reagents according to the manufacturer’s specifications, and in accordance with the University’s HS&IM requirements and regulations.

Essential Skills and Experience
1. Certificate III in Warehousing Operations or demonstrated equivalent skills, knowledge and experience
2. Demonstrated understanding of finance administration including reconciliations, accounts receivable and accounts payable
3. Experience in purchasing, receiving and distribution of goods, including the safe storage of chemicals and reagents, displaying sound written communication skills
4. Achievement in the provision of high quality, responsive customer service that includes courteous interpersonal attributes, the ability to listen and accurately assess a diverse range of customers’ needs and requirements
5. High-level attention to detail, experience in being proactive in anticipating requirements, and proven ability to prioritise duties to meet timeframes
6. Ability to work with minimal supervision, to be self-motivated, and to be flexible in responding to changing work priorities
