Pacific’s focus is on delivering value to the CIMIC Group through development, delivery and operations of these assets.
About the Role
This is an exciting opportunity to join our growing team as we look for a Markets Analyst to support development of our portfolio of energy projects. In this role you will play a pivotal role in analysing and interpreting electricity market data including trends, pricing, demand, supply, and regulatory changes which will inform investment opportunities within the renewable energy sector. This is an excellent opportunity to contribute to the development and execution of renewable energy projects, while gaining valuable experience in a dynamic and collaborative environment.
Key responsibilities of the role include:
Market Analysis
* Conducting thorough market research to identify emerging trends and regulatory changes, within the renewable energy sector.
* Developing and maintaining in-house and external market models and assumptions used to forecast electricity prices.
* Preparing market reports and presentations summarizing key findings and recommendations for senior management review.
* Assisting with the negotiation of PPAs including the financial analysis required.
Investment Support
* Analysing financial data and investment models including scenario testing to evaluate the feasibility and potential returns of renewable energy projects.
* Assist with developing business cases and investment proposals for new opportunities.
* Collaborating with cross-functional teams to facilitate due diligence processes for potential acquisitions and partnerships in the renewable energy space.
The Markets Analyst can be located in either Sydney, Melbourne or Brisbane.
About You
We are looking for someone who is flexible, motivated and a quick learner. You might not tick all these boxes, and that’s OK, but you have the drive to succeed. Here are some of the aspects and experiences we are looking for in the successful candidate:
* Tertiary qualification in in Economics, Commerce, Finance, Mathematics or Engineering.
* 2-5 years’ of relevant experience
* Experience in a similar role, and experience in energy markets and financial analysis will be highly regarded.
* Strong analytical skills, specifically; distilling, synthesising and translating multiple sources of information and recommending course of action.
* Effective written and oral communications skills with experience preparing for, writing, and presenting to Senior Management and Business leaders.
* Experience in establishing relationships and collaborating across cross-functional teams and stakeholders.
* Exposure in BESS, solar and/or wind development experience will be highly regarded.
