Staff Specialist/Visiting Medical Officer Obstetrician & Gynaecologist
Role Summary:
We are seeking a Consultant Obstetrician and Gynaecologist to join the team at Bathurst Health Service. The successful candidate will have a personal commitment to providing an effective and efficient inpatient and outpatient service, and an unequivocal dedication to working as part of a multidisciplinary team.
About the Role:
This position offers a broad experience in all aspects of Obstetrics and Gynaecology. You will have a demonstrated commitment to continuing professional development and to providing supervision and training to learners at all levels.
Bathurst Health Service is a level 4 role delineated regional maternity service with a level 3 special care nursery.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Provide leadership and management of a multidisciplinary team
2. Deliver high-quality patient care and services
3. Contribute to the development and implementation of clinical policies and procedures
4. Collaborate with other healthcare professionals to achieve quality outcomes
5. Participate in education and training programs for medical students and junior staff
Requirements:
1. Eligible for registration with the Medical Board of Australia as a Specialist, and/or overseas trained specialist via the appropriate International Medical Graduate pathway
2. Demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team and provide leadership of a team
3. Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively through the use of information technology and written, verbal and interpersonal skills
4. Demonstrated commitment to teaching, continuing education, research and quality improvement
5. Fellowship of the Royal Australia and New Zealand College of Obstetricians & Gynaecologists

The service also has active hospital in the home and primary community health services to the surrounding townships.
