Has experience in preparation, cooking, butchering, and/or pastry cooking.Has no issue with following direction.Is an excellent multi-tasker with good initiative.Possesses a demonstrable passion for food.Has excellent inter-personal skills, maintaining a calm demeanour in high-pressure situations and uses these traits to perform well in a team.Is open to providing input into seasonal menu design and on-going dish development.Seeks to further his/her skillset and food knowledge by showcasing local produce. The role on offer is a permanent long-term position, and will sit within an established team, with long-term goals and new opportunities on the horizon. Your tasks and duties in the kitchen will include:Stock control and management, including ordering, examining, and storing food stock.Examining foodstuffs to ensure quality. Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills, and other cooking equipment Preparing and cooking food Food preparation for both a la carte and function service, including demonstration of cooking techniques and advising on cooking procedures to assistant cooks and newly appointed cooks.Seasoning food during cooking Portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces, and garnishes Storing food in temperature-controlled facilities Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements Assisting chef to plan menus and estimate food requirements. Training other kitchen staff and apprentices.Maintaining compliance with food safety and hygiene, and strictly implementing our OH&S policies The applicant must be an Australia citizen or Australian PR, must hold AQF Certificate III and AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery and he/she should have at least 2 years' full-time work experience in the position of Cook in reputed restaurants/cafes in Australia.
