Category Sourcing Specialist Role Overview
The Category Sourcing Specialist is a critical role at ANZ, responsible for the end-to-end delivery of strategic sourcing initiatives within a category and vendor segment. This includes initiating the development and execution of sourcing strategies in line with the category plan to drive commercial value for the business over short- and medium-term horizons while managing risks associated with the category.

Key Responsibilities:
* Understanding the nature of the supply base (national/regional/global) and competitive forces of the supply market.
* Fulfilling business needs in line with category strategy through rigorous procurement processes, ensuring a balance of cost and quality.
* Developing a pipeline of opportunities in conjunction with key business stakeholders and Contract Owners based on contract expiry, and proactively managing portfolio contracts.
* Collaborating with the Category Manager to identify gaps in the category, emerging goods/services, size of price/opportunity, and feasibility of goods/services.
* Orchestrating the sourcing process, including determining the sourcing strategy, conducting due diligence, market/supplier analysis, price benchmarking, and negotiation.
* Interacting with internal stakeholders to facilitate sourcing outcomes and working collaboratively across Procurement and business stakeholders to deliver opportunities related to third-party spend.
* Continuously improving to achieve procurement and business targets and demand savings opportunities.
Your Skills and Experience:
* Experience in managing contracts and commercial procurement engagements, and delivering contract management related continuous improvement initiatives.
* Strategic thinking to problem-solve in complex situations.
* Strong communication, stakeholder, and relationship management skills.
* Understanding of risks and control options.
* Strong commercial acumen with ability to analyze cost vs risk trade-offs, shape deal economics, high-level commercial acumen, and strong negotiations skills and results-oriented.
* Understanding of supply market dynamics, Third Party Risk, Regulatory requirements, external leading practice, market trends relevant to spend areas.
* End-to-end procurement lifecycle management experience across Strategy, Source to Contract, Supplier Relationship Management through to Req. to Pay.
* Extensive experience in IT Software, Hardware, and cloud sourcing.
