SafeWork NSW is undergoing an exciting and important period of transformation as we establish the organisation as a modern, strong and standalone Work Health and Safety Regulator.About the teamThis role is an exciting opportunity to uphold SafeWork regulatory responsibilities, leading a team implementing and monitoring organisation risk and assurance frameworks focusing on regulatory practices and processes. The team is also responsible for conducting internal reviews of regulatory and authorisation decisions made by SafeWork NSW under the Work Health and Safety Act 2011.Your responsibilities will include:Building internal risk capability, tools and support resources.Undertaking internal audit functions.Corporate Governance, including PIDs (fraud and corruption), Conflicts of Interests, ethics and code of conduct.Provide operational direction, ensuring a disciplined approach to the reviewable decisions process, managing multiple applications with varying degrees of complexity within statutory timeframes.Establish and monitor compliance, risk, and quality assurance policies, processes, and standards to maintain operational integrity.About youAbility to balance competing demands while maximising business outcomes and driving continuous improvement.Passion for Workplace Safety and with an appreciation of risk-based compliance and contemporary regulatory frameworks.Experience in delivering compliance programs, guiding staff on appropriate enforcement activities.An effective communicator, capable of providing objective and independent advice while maintaining a focus on achieving operational excellence.Committed to developing risk management capabilities and driving continuous improvement in corporate governance practices.In joining SafeWork NSW, you will be rewarded with a great opportunity to apply your experience with your passion for workplace health and safety.
