APS4/5 Security Administration Officer
Contract approximately 12 months with a possible extension| Canberra Location | APS4: $50.24 - $53.56 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation | APS5: $55.40 - $59.20 per hour plus 11.5% superannuation
OVERVIEW
Our Federal Government client is currently seeking an experienced Security Administration Officer to join their team at the APS4/5 level. Within this role you will manage and support security clearance processes with outsourced services providers (OSPs) and undertake a variety of administrative duties to support the department’s security clearance processes.
YOUR RESPONSIBILITIES
* Processing criminal records checks.
* Managing electronic security inboxes and responding to queries within appropriate timeframes.
* Receiving and checking clearance applications.
* Liaising internally and externally to commence, monitor, progress and finalise security clearance processes. Updating relevant internal systems with this information.
* Managing and supporting security clearance processes with External Security Vetting Services (ESVS) and other government agencies.
* Providing policy and related procedural advice regarding security clearance requirements as outlined in the Australian Government’s Protective Security Policy Framework and the Departmental Security Framework.
* Preparing documentation for delegate approval.
* Compiling regular compliance reports to manage and forecast workloads.
* Assisting Team Leaders with projects related to policy or operational processes.
EXPERIENCE / REQUIREMENTS
* Knowledge of the Australian Government’s Protective Security Framework.
* Experience in processing clearance applications and managing high volume clearance enquiries.
* Strong attention to detail, organisational and time management skills, including the ability to work to tight deadlines and effectively manage competing priorities.
* Ability to interpret policy in responding to client queries; and ability to work proactively and with minimal supervision.
* Demonstrated ability to interrogate and manipulate information systems.
* Strong level of resilience, the ability to adapt to change in a fast-paced environment and personal drive and integrity.
