The Inner South-Eastern Local Council is seeking a dedicated Contract Paralegal to join their Legal team on a part-time basis, working three days a week. This role is crucial for supporting the administration of their Legal Services Panel and facilitating effective project delivery.
Key Responsibilities:
* Manage administrative tasks related to the upcoming Legal Services Panel and legal project coordination.
* Assist with reporting on key internal and external legal matters.
* Develop and maintain systems, policies, and documentation to meet legislative requirements.
* Update and monitor external legal suppliers on VendorPanel.
* Serve as the first point of contact, providing high-level administrative support to the Legal team.
* Maintain the Legal Intranet page to ensure information is current.
* Process requisitions and tax invoices, and support staff with Council policies and legal procedures.
Requirements:
* Confidentiality and Diplomacy: Maintain a high level of discretion when dealing with confidential and commercially sensitive information.
* Judgment and Decision-Making: Trusted advisor in legal administrative support with a proactive problem-solving approach.
* Communication Skills: Strong written and verbal communication skills; ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
* Specialist Knowledge: Familiarity with legal processes (in-house and/or external), and strong attention to detail in data entry and document management.
* Interpersonal Skills: Commitment to excellent customer service, with the ability to collaborate across various projects and manage complex administrative issues.
* Qualifications: Experience in a legal administrative or paralegal role, with relevant tertiary qualifications in law, business administration, or related fields. Experience in a legal, regulatory, or governance environment is preferable.
