About the role
We are currently seeking a Site Engineer to join us on the Eastern Freeway – Burke to Tram Alliance.
This is your opportunity to assist supervisory staff and engineers in day-to-day operations, quality, and safety monitoring documents. Procurement of all necessary plant, equipment, and materials as necessary to perform the works as directed
Key responsibilities
1. Complete the responsible duties assigned by their manager and be responsible for the technical matters associated with the construction of their assigned area of the project and package of works, develop construction methods and resolve design issues.
2. Monitor expenditure, program, productivities, and completion as directed.
3. Ensure strict adherence to all statutory regulations, safety, quality, environmental performance as well as BTA policies and Primary Standards
4. Regularly review the delivery schedule and report on any deviation
5. Understand design progress, constructability review and process for design review, contribute to improvement of the overall design and constructability of area of work.
6. Provide input in construction planning and recommending changes to design details to increase construction efficiency and reduce costs.
7. Ensure temporary works procedures are followed and necessary controls are in place, including permits and appropriately qualified supervision to perform the works.
8. Understand USP requirements for working on and around their assets and associated approvals
9. Understand, Prepare & control ITP’s, samples/prototypes, lot registrations, inspection & tests, non-conformance, conformance certification and maintenance of traceable verification records.
10. Monitor the construction progress against the programme and productivity. Produce regular (daily) productivities for reporting and accurate data for decision making. Identify potential productivity improvements or constraints that may impact construction and the schedule.
11. Prepare short- and long-term construction planning for works and accurate reporting and mitigation measures where required, daily, and 2 week lookahead.
About you
12. Experience in major infrastructure projects
13. Background in Civil Engineering
14. Excellent communication skills
15. You will have experience delivering large scale infrastructure projects (Road/Rail), ideally having worked in a tier 1 setting.
16. A degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical or Civil) or construction management with experience working on the delivery of major infrastructure projects, Utility relocations and stakeholder management
