Parkview Hotel and Jak Hospitality are seeking expressions of interest from qualified and experienced Cooks for Parkview Hotel, Millthorpe Hotel, and Parrot Distilling Co locations.
Job Description
The successful candidate will possess either a Certificate IV in Cookery or at least 3 years of work experience as a Cook. The ideal candidate is professionally qualified and/or experienced in a busy environment and able to work under pressure.
Key Responsibilities
* Prepare and create dishes according to the menu
* Prepare diet-specific food items and customized orders
* Ensure food presentation and plating meets quality benchmarks
* Estimate food and labor costs within kitchen operations
* Participate in deciding weekly specials and their market prices
Additional Responsibilities
* Assist the Chef in recruiting staff, including junior cooks and other kitchen workers
* Supervise and coordinate activities of junior workers engaged in food preparation
* Monitor sanitation and hygiene practices, and food regulations of kitchen workers
* Receive and implement customer feedback and suggestions where required
* Assist management in budgeting, negotiating prices, and kitchen purchases
* Contribute to planning special events, such as weddings, parties, and banquets
Requirements
* Certificate IV in Cookery or at least 3 years of work experience as a Cook
* Able to work in a busy environment and under pressure
* Professionally qualified and/or experienced
