Gensler’s Sydney office is seeking a creative, motivated, and highly collaborative individual to join our team as a Marketing Specialist. Marketing Specialists are the key producers of materials that support Gensler’s business development efforts. They work under the direction of office leadership, senior staff, and marketing leaders to write, design, and produce proposals, presentations, and other collateral / thought leadership used to help the firm win work. Marketers also support the general activities of the office/regional marketing studio, such as strategy, positioning, storytelling, photography, graphic design, and knowledge management.
Your Role
We are looking for a creative marketer who is great at managing multiple priorities, who is naturally creative and a self-starter. Ideally you will have proven track record in guiding teams through complicated pursuit processes with experience in the Commercial Office, Architecture, Retail, & Hospitality sectors. Our next superstar will be a natural collaborator, eager to lend a hand, share ideas, or even a well-timed meme for morale. Excellent communicators, proactive problem solvers, graphic design wizards, and strategic thinkers will thrive here through an environment that supports thoughtful work and professional growth.
What You Will Do
1. Participate and lead pursuit strategy and planning
2. Work with principals, senior staff, and other marketing team members to design, write, and produce proposals, presentations, and other marketing collateral in alignment with brand standards
3. Develop new materials as needed to support business development activities, with a critical emphasis on graphic design capabilities
4. Perform multiple marketing efforts against rapid and frequent deadlines
5. Learn and understand Gensler’s portfolio of work, practice areas, and capabilities
6. Maintain marketing collateral, resources, and information systems
7. Work closely with other marketing team members in the Asia Pacific Middle East region to complete special projects and elevate the quality of our efforts
8. Support Gensler sustainability goals. Especially on topics relevant to your day-to-day duties.
9. Engage and collaborate with the larger team on sustainability efforts and initiatives.
10. Research and implement ways to optimize our internal workflow environmental impact.
Your Qualifications
11. At least 5 years of professional experience in a marketing position with a design or other creative professional services firm, prior experience in the AEC industry is a plus
12. Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Design, Marketing, Graphic Design, Communications, Journalism, or Business
13. Ability to lead BD conversations confidently and strategically and collaborate closely with leadership on win strategy and storytelling
14. Excellent written and verbal communication skills
15. Creative and impactful graphic design skills, including creating effective presentations and marketing collateral
16. Self-motivator with strong organizational and intra-personal skills, and a great collaborator
17. Strong organizational skills to coordinate and manage multiple projects and deadlines
18. Ability to work with diverse project teams and in a fast-paced work environment
19. Fluency of InDesign is a must
20. Proficiency in Photoshop / Illustrator is favourable, knowledge of Google Slides, Keynote, and Miro are a plus
21. Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, and PowerPoint) is required
22. Experience working with Salesforce a plus
23. Basic understanding of sustainable design and operations is preferred.
