Heywood, Victoria is a quaint small town on the Fitzroy River nestled amongst the rolling green hills in a predominately agricultural, pastoral and timber cutting district. Come and enjoy some sensational bush walking on the Great South West Walk, bike riding, canoeing the Fitzroy River, visit the World Heritage listed Budj Bim landscape. Only 20 minutes away you can enjoy the wonders of Portland beaches which are great for swimming, surfing or head to Bridgewater Lakes for some skiing. There is plenty of sporting options available for adults and children. The options are endless !!
Heywood offers a family friendly lifestyle with a local public primary and secondary school and various sporting facilities. Further educational opportunities available include private schools in Hamilton, only 55km away by bus and Deakin University in Warrnambool.
The clinic provides a broad scope of general practice to community clients, aged care residents, and VMO rights to admit patients. Presentations are a diverse range of general practice and primary health with a mix of low and high care with some respite patients.
There is no on-call or weekend work with approximately 25 patients scheduled for consultation per day.
Pathology collection is available two mornings per week. Allied Health practitioners are situated within our Community Health Hub and include: Dietician, Diabetes Educator, Podiatrist, Occupational Therapy, and Physiotherapist. District Nursing and Home Care Packages Program also operate out of the Community Health Hub.
Our Medical Clinic is co-located alongside the Residential Aged Care Facility that includes five acute beds, 45 residential aged care facility, and a small nurse led Urgent Care Centre open 24hrs/7days week.
