What's the role? In this role, you will partner with the leadership team of the Production Operations business unit at News Corp Australia, supporting the Commercial Finance team in delivering essential financial insight. By working closely with key stakeholders, you'll help track and evaluate ongoing performance against budget and forecast, ensuring a streamlined cost base. Your expertise will be integral in delivering high-quality, standardised reporting, planning, and analysis, enabling informed business decisions. Reporting to the Commercial Finance Manager - Production, you'll collaborate with fellow analysts to ensure the seamless delivery of the consolidated P&L for the Production Operations division. This role is key to driving financial clarity and operational efficiency across the business. Responsibilities - Strategic Partnership and Decision-Making: Collaborate with key stakeholders to drive informed commercial decisions, providing valuable financial insights to influence production strategies and business outcomes. - Reporting and Financial Analysis : Deliver comprehensive and accurate reporting, presenting both financial and non-financial data to key business partners to support strategic decision-making. - Budgeting and Forecasting : Assist in the preparation and management of budgets, forecasts, and monthly financial results, ensuring alignment with business objectives and operational goals. - Process Improvement and Efficiency: Identify opportunities to streamline processes and enhance efficiency, working closely with stakeholders to implement solutions that benefit the business. - Performance Monitoring and Month-End Activities : Analyse variances between actual performance and budget/forecast, manage month-end activities including journal entries and accruals, and monitor financial performance to identify risks and opportunities. Who are you? - CA/CPA qualified with 3 years of experience in a similar role, bringing strong commercial acumen and professional accounting expertise. - Excellent financial acumen, with a proven track record in cost management, partnering with business units, and influencing key decisions. - Strong analytical abilities paired with exceptional communication and stakeholder management skills to effectively influence and collaborate with teams. - A strategic thinker and self-starter with a commercial approach to business, capable of driving initiatives and achieving business objectives. - Ability to source data from multiple platforms and translate it into insightful information that supports decision-making and business strategies.
