This includes overseeing day-to-day operations and maintenance of Broome's numerous parks, gardens, streetscapes, footpaths and kerbs, as well as being involved in key projects, such as the award-winning Town Beach and Chinatown, and the current redevelopment of Cable Beach Foreshore.The role oversees the Parks Coordinator and Operations Coordinator, and the forty team members across those teams, as well as Business Support.About You:Our ideal candidate will have a proactive mindset, able to build organisational culture and drive performance while maintaining a harmonious team environment.A dynamic individual, the successful applicant must have 5+ years' experience in an operations management role in local government, civil, parks or mining industries, with highly developed knowledge and experience in operational and maintenance scheduling, asset management, civil engineering, public open space management principles, budget preparation and reporting, and project management.An Advanced Diploma or tertiary qualifications in Civil Engineering, Project Management, MBA, Horticulture, Parks & Gardens or landscape design will be highly regarded.About the Shire:Working for the Shire of Broome means you will enjoy:Salary band of between $125,000-$140,000 base salary per annum (depending on qualifications, skills and experience).In addition to base salary, there are generous allowances ($10,000 Broome location allowance plus $16,000 Broome rental housing allowance) and employer matched superannuation.Employer provided vehicle with unrestricted private use, as per Shire policy.Leave entitlements well above industry minimums, including additional annual leave (and monthly rostered days off) - giving you every opportunity to enjoy that Broome lifestyle!Salary sacrifice options for rental assistance, mortgage interest and more.Family Membership to the Broome Recreation and Aquatic Centre.A comprehensive Wellness Program including discounts on local services such as Pilates and Yoga.An active and engaging social club.Shire housing at market rent available for candidates outside Broome (able to be salary sacrificed).Relocation assistance up to $10,000 for candidates outside Broome.The Shire of Broome is an Equal Opportunity Employer.
