We have a current vacancy for a highly skilled and safety-focused Qualified Fitter & Turner to join our team located in Warrnambool, Victoria. In this role, you will be required to work alongside a crew of like-minded tradespeople to deliver maintenance onsite.
MAIN DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
* Repairing and maintaining machinery and equipment
* Scheduling and completing the company's 'Preventative Maintenance Program'
* Studying drawings and specifications to determine suitable material, method, and sequence of operations and machine settings.
* Fitting fabricated metal parts into products and assembling metal parts and sub-assemblies to produce machines and equipment.
* Checking fabricated and assembled metal parts for accuracy, clearance, and fit using precision measuring instruments.
* Setting guides, stops, and other controls on machining tools, setting up prescribed cutting and shaping tools and dies in machines and presses, and setting controls for textile machines.
* Forming metal stock and castings to fine tolerance using machining tools to press, cut, grind, plane, bore, and drill metal.
* Cutting, threading, bending, and installing hydraulic and pneumatic pipes and lines.
* Diagnosing faults and performing operational maintenance of machines, and overhauling and repairing mechanical parts and fluid power equipment.
* May erect machines and equipment on-site.
* Attending daily maintenance situations and breakdowns
* Attending weekly maintenance meetings and toolbox talks
SKILLS & EXPERIENCES:
* Trade Certificates - Engine Reconditioning/ Fitter & Turner/ Machinist and/or other related industry qualifications
* Strong experience in a similar role will be highly regarded
* Be punctual and reliable, self-motivated, problem solver & team player
* Strong interpersonal & communication skills
* Basic computer literacy
* You must pass a drug & alcohol test and be willing to undergo a pre-employment medical if required.
* You have already had a Q Fever vaccination or are willing to participate in the vaccination process.

Salary Range: AUD70,000 to AUD135,000
