About Your Opportunity
Due to our continuing success and strong pipeline of work, we are seeking a Project Manager and a trainee Estimator/Project Coordinator to join our projects team. These positions are open to experienced Estimators/Project Coordinators/Project Managers, and, as an upskill opportunity for a suitably qualified and experienced tradesperson looking for career progression, off the tools, respectively.
Position Overview
This position is based at our Geraldton workshop, reporting directly to the Operations Manager. With support from the friendly Project Team and upper management, an experienced candidate is expected to hit the ground running, while more focused on-the-job coaching will be provided for an upskill position.
Key Responsibilities
1. Participate in pre-tender and project progress/closeout meetings.
2. Participate in periodic site-visits to scope project requirements.
3. Interpret drawings and specifications and develop accurate Material Take-Offs (MTO).
4. Accurate estimation of materials, labour and resources.
5. Accurate jobbing and project cost estimating.
6. Preparation and submission of competitive tenders/bids and quotations within submission deadlines.
7. Issuing of Purchase Orders.
8. Timely procurement of raw materials and components.
9. Coordinate subcontractors and external service providers.
10. Collaborate with Project Supervisors and workshop/site teams.
11. Preparation of project documentation (Project Management Plans, Construction Methodologies, Schedules/Gantts, SWMS, ITP, ITR, FIC, MDR).
12. Participate in detailed risk assessments.
Attributes, Qualifications & Experience
1. Respectful, polite, and courteous demeanour.

4. Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to communicate with various internal and external stakeholders at all levels.
5. Excellent time management skills with the ability to prioritize competing demands.
6. Strong attention to detail.
7. Trade-qualified (BMW or Mechanical Fitter), or Tertiary qualifications in a relevant engineering discipline.
8. 5-10+ years post-trade experience, or tertiary qualifications in engineering (Mech/Civil/Structural/Process) with 3+ years post-graduate/professional experience within the Mining, Oil & Gas sectors.
9. 3-5 Years Estimating/Project Management experience within the Mining, Oil & Gas sectors - Experience in the bulk fuels/hydrocarbons arena highly desirable.
10. Excellent computer literacy, including typical MS Office Suite, Adobe PDF Editor and Scheduling/Project Management Software (MS Project or similar).
11. Strong commercial and project management acumen with the ability to manage project scope, schedule, quality, cost and administer progress and variation claims as required.
12. Well-developed technical sales and negotiation skills.
13. Strong knowledge of relevant Australian and industry legislation, standards, and best practices.
14. Ability to interpret engineering drawings, design specifications and Scope of Work documentation.
15. Strong QA/QC knowledge, with welding supervision (WPQR/WPS), ISO9001 and EPCM experience highly regarded.
16. Project Office/Department Management experience highly regarded.
17. 2D/3D CAD proficiency highly regarded (or genuine interest in learning).
Upskill Opportunity Requirements
1. 5+ Years Post-Trade experience (BMW or Mechanical Fitter) within the Mining, Oil & Gas sectors, with experience in the bulk fuels/hydrocarbons arena highly desirable.
2. Self-motivated, disciplined and ambitious learner with a thirst for knowledge.
3. Genuine interest in career development from tradesperson to Estimator/Project Coordinator, with an extended interest in growing with the business with the potential to progress towards either Design Draftsperson or Project Manager capacities (for the right person).
4. Supervisory experience highly regarded.
5. VET/Tertiary level Project Management/Business/WHS/Supervisory qualifications highly regarded.
6. Intermediate computer literacy, including typical MS Office Suite, Adobe PDF Editor with Scheduling/Project Management/CMMS software experience highly regarded.
