About the program
AIR6500 is the RAAF’s $3 billion program to develop a joint air battle management system that builds on the capabilities offered by Next Generation sensor and command and control systems. AIR6500 will create a fully networked ‘system of systems’ that synchronises air and missile defence operations in joint and coalition environments, maximising situational awareness and enhancing the speed of decision making across the battlespace.
Your responsibilities will include:
As the Systems Engineer, you will perform technical planning, system integration, verification and validation, cost and risk, and supportability and effectiveness analyses for total systems.
Additional responsibilities will include;
1. Resolve System and sub-system level requirements through decomposition and design, representing these in the Model Based Engineering (MBE) environment
2. Develop key interface definitions, representing these in the MBE Environment
3. Resolve design and solution Trade-Offs against System Requirements
4. Develop key AIR6500 technical documents and artefacts such as solution descriptions, trade studies and definition of requirements
About you:
To be successful in this role you will have extensive experience with development of systems design for large complex systems, impressive experience trading off designs and solutions with an understanding of the potential component level, subsystem level, and system level impacts, along with;
5. Significant knowledge in one or more of the Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Intelligence, Surveillance, Reconnaissance and Electronic Warfare (C4ISREW) domains
6. Demonstrated knowledge and experience undertaking Agile development
Special Requirements:
Applicants are required to be Australian Citizens and hold a current or re-instatable NV1 Defence Security Clearance.
