Sharp & Carter have been engaged by our food manufacturing client to source for an experienced purchasing officer. If you are looking for an autonomous role that offers engagement with a wider variety of internal stakeholders, suppliers, customers and vendors, this could be the ideal role for you!
Your primary objective will be to ensure that the facility has adequate levels of supplies on hand (both direct and indirect) whilst maintaining cost control without compromising on product quality or creating interruptions to production schedules.
Key aspects of the role will include
1. Purchase of consumable materials required for the day to day production of our clients products
2. Purchase of maintenance, services supplies and replacement parts
3. Creation and recording of purchase orders into internal SAP system
4. Obtaining quotes and pricing models from prospective suppliers
5. Partner with key stakeholders to ensure you understand the wider planning and production scheduling
6. Assist with cycle counting processes
To be successful in the role you will need to demonstrate
7. Experience in a similar role, in either food or pharmaceutical manufacturing
8. Knowledge across a range of Microsoft Office programs, SAP or similar systems
9. High attention to detail with strong financial acumen
10. The ability to work autonomously whilst still engaging with wider stakeholders
11. Demonstrated ability to prioritise and manage a busy workload
