The Australian Orthopaedic Association is seeking a Data Requests Officer to join their Registry team in Adelaide. This role would suit a person with strong attention to detail, who is able to prioritise tasks and can work, at times, within tight deadlines. The opportunity: Working as part of a team, the Data Requests Officer role supports the efficient handling, processing, and dissemination of medical data requests. It facilitates access to crucial medical data for research and operational activities, thereby contributing to the advancement of medical knowledge and improved patient outcomes. This role assists with the workflow of data requests, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, and maintains effective communication between various stakeholders, including medical professionals, statisticians, and external medical companies. In particular, this role involves: Data Request Handling: assisting in the receipt and logging of new requests for orthopaedic statistical data, and ensuring that applications are accurate and complete. Request Review Support: Providing assistance in reviewing data requests to assess their scope and feasibility, as well as liaising with relevant teams to ensure timely preparation of data sets and reports. Data Dissemination Support: Supporting the review and dissemination of data reports, ensuring compliance with legislative, legal and ethical guidelines. Stakeholder Communication: Assisting in maintaining clear communication between internal teams (statisticians, clinical directors) and external parties (surgeons, hospitals, healthcare companies) to meet data requirements and deadlines. Project Monitoring: Assisting in tracking the progress and deadlines of data requests, and handling multiple projects concurrently, under the guidance of the Data Requests Coordinator. Documentation Maintenance: Helping to maintain accurate records for all communications and data-related transactions. Compliance and Confidentiality: Ensuring all data handling complies with relevant regulations, and maintaining the highest levels of confidentiality and data integrity. The ideal candidate will have the following knowledge & skills: Basic Understanding of Data: Basic knowledge of medical data handling and statistical concepts. Project Support Skills: Experience supporting projects in a research, healthcare, or similar environment, with the ability to manage multiple tasks concurrently. Software Proficiency: Familiarity with data management systems or software tools. Communication Skills: Strong verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with a range of stakeholders. Organisational Abilities: Strong organisational skills, with a demonstrated ability to prioritise tasks and maintain accurate records. Problem-Solving: Basic problem-solving skills and the ability to adapt to changing needs and requirements. Compliance Awareness: Awareness of legal and ethical standards in handling medical data, with a commitment to maintaining confidentiality and data security. Education/Qualifications: The appointee will have: A Bachelor's degree in a relevant field - or equivalent experience.
