The bdna Products team of business analysts, software developers, engineers, testers and forensic subject matter experts work closely with law enforcement and forensic laboratories to improve forensic service delivery through specialist products. This role requires someone with Forensic DNA interpretation and case management skills.
What you'll do
1. Use high levels of knowledge, expertise and clinical skills in exercising independent judgment in problem solving and forensic case management
2. Undertake forensic interpretation following established accredited forensic protocols and standards
3. Responsible for providing results of DNA analysis, interpretation and case management
4. Uses and applies a high level of interpersonal skills, ensuring effective cooperation and communication
5. Work independently in a collaborative, multi-disciplinary team environment
6. Work across a range of client engagements
7. Collaborate with all of bdna and allocated clients
8. Be knowledgeable of current and future methods, examples and trends
9. Work within bdna and client teams and on occasions work with limited supervision and or structure
10. Awareness and understanding of other cultures, beliefs and diversities of our clients and team
11. Maintain a positive attitude and contribute to the great culture of bdna.
What you've got
1. Proven experience working in a forensic DNA laboratory with ability to effectively interpret DNA profiles and undertake case management
2. Demonstrated knowledge of, or ability to rapidly acquire knowledge of, contemporary statistical interpretation of forensic DNA profiles, including the use of statistical software
3. Technical knowledge and the ability to provide insight into processes performed in a laboratory environment
4. Ability to quickly acquire the skills to use Case Management and Laboratory Information Management software program
5. Demonstrated ability in building and maintaining client relationships
6. Strong verbal and written communication skills
7. Effective time management skills to manage priorities and meet client requirements and timeframes
8. Support and encourage continuous improvement
9. Proven ability to multi-task and work in challenging environments
10. Ability to work as part of a team or work autonomously if required
11. Strong desire to help improve society.

Education and Experience
1. Bachelor’s degree in science or related field, from a recognised university or tertiary institution
2. Nationally recognised Forensic/Science qualification
3. Three years relevant experience (Forensic Laboratory highly desirable)
4. Background in biology (highly desirable)
5. Must be an Australian Citizen, in Australia and permitted to work permanently with no restriction on hours (Required)
6. Ability to obtain and maintain security clearances e.g. NV1 security clearance (Required)
