The Sydney Pharmacy School is seeking to appoint a Pharmacy Professional Practitioner (Lecturer) to assist students in meeting eligibility requirements for completing a degree leading to Ahpra registration. You will teach and supervise pre-registration students, primarily those on clinical placement. Your duties may include clinical teaching and assessment with a focus on coaching and developing students in providing best-practice patient care within a clinical setting. The incumbent will be located within The Liverpool Hospital and may be required to travel to the Camperdown Campus occasionally for teaching-related activities. Please note this is a full time opportunity, with 0.6FTE employed by the University of Sydney and a commitment from the LHD hospital (NSW Health) to employ the candidate for the remainder 0.4FTE. Your key responsibilities will be to: Undertake teaching and training of students in a hospital setting, applying hospital experience and expertise to inform best practice teaching deliver professional standards training and education to students to prepare them to meet eligibility requirements for completion of a degree leading to Ahpra registration apply hospital knowledge and experience to inform high-quality patient care whilst also supervising the training of pre-registration students train students to deliver best practice multi-disciplinary, patient centred care support students to develop strong communication skills with fellow health professionals as well as patients and their families or carers engage in high-quality clinical/hospital teaching and learning experiences which meet the University’s expectations and standards for clinical education staff provide advice, mentoring, and guidance relevant to the stage of training to students to prepare them for engaging in clinical practice contribute to innovative practices in clinical education with a view to improving educational outcomes apply expertise in clinical practice to provide training and support to academic staff on effective, innovative and contemporary clinical practice contribute to a positive workplace culture in which diversity of thought, contribution, collaboration, excellence and achieving outcomes are valued and enabled. About you Current Ahpra-registered Pharmacist bachelor’s or master’s degree in pharmacy proven experience in clinical teaching and learning in a hospital setting (or clinical placement), as evidenced by student coaching and skills development qualified pharmacist with previous hospital pharmacy experience who has already developed skills and competencies in hospital pharmacy proven experience working in a clinical and hospital setting with the ability to apply expertise and knowledge to inform clinical practice teaching demonstrated ability to work effectively as part of a multi-disciplinary team strong commitment to patient and student-centred care.
