The Opportunity
We are seeking a Property Officer to join our Business Services & Assurance division, within the Property & Services section. This role reports directly to the Property Manager and is responsible for managing Hunter Water’s property interests, including licenses, leases, easements, and freehold land.
Key Responsibilities:
* Research and coordinate timely responses to property enquiries.
* Prepare, coordinate, and finalize licence, lease, and easement documentation.
* Manage telecommunication licences, including upgrades and renewals.
* Maintain and reconcile property management databases and registers.
* Process payments, including council rates and land tax.
* Assist with insurance claims and reporting.
* Reconcile invoicing and receipting of Licence Fees.
* Conduct inspections of leased and licensed properties.
* Support property functions and assist in the disposal of non-freehold land and property assets.
* Ensure statutory and regulatory compliance, including asset revaluation and asbestos re-inspections.
About You
Essential Requirements:
* Tertiary qualifications in property, legal, facilities management, or a related discipline.
* Experience in property management or a similar role.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
* Familiarity with intranet programs (e.g., SharePoint) and document management systems (e.g., TRIM).
* Strong organisational and time management skills.
* Unrestricted Driver’s Licence.
Desirable Skills:
* Experience in infrastructure or utilities.
* Knowledge of public and private sector real estate practices.
* Experience in land sales, easements, leases, surveying, valuation, and conveyancing processes.
* Working knowledge of land-related statutes.
* Proven ability to negotiate property transactions.
