We are therefore looking for a suitably qualified and experienced development engineer to help support this growth in a full time three year fixed contract position. Position Overview The Development Engineer will play a crucial role in supporting the engineering elements of key land divisions within the Council area. Working proactively with the Council's planning and infrastructure teams, developers, consultants and contractors this position will be a key part of the team driving the successful negotiation and delivery of gifted assets and other new infrastructure including leading nominated infrastructure projects. Qualifications A relevant and recognized diploma or degree in Civil Engineering or equivalent is essential together with knowledge of the Planning, Development and Infrastructure Act, Planning and Design Code and the operation of the Development Assessment Portal as it relates to land division. Responsibilities Reporting to the Coordinator – Infrastructure Planning and Design, responsibilities of the position include: Providing effective and timely engineering and technical advice for land divisions and other development applications Work collaboratively with planning staff to ensure coordinated responses to applications Providing specialist engineering technical advice to assist in the delivery of projects/programs Undertaking effective communication and negotiation to ensure development infrastructure complies with Council's guidelines Reviewing and commenting on designs for the construction of civil infrastructure such as roads, storm water and traffic management. The successful applicant will demonstrate high level skills in communication, customer service, time management, problem solving along with the ability to work as part of a team.
