James Cook University (JCU) is seeking a casual Administration Officer to join our Northern Queensland Regional Training Hubs (NQRTH) team in Cairns.$49.17 - $55.77 (depending on skills and experience)Based at the Cairns Clinical School, Cairns HospitalGain valuable career experience at a leading higher education institutionABOUT THE ROLEThe Administration Officer supports the administration of medical education programs and post-graduate doctors in training programs in Cairns, supporting the NQRTH team.
Duties include but are not limited to:Providing high quality, consistent and accurate administrative support to staff, clinicians and the health community, ensuring the service provisions are customer centric, informed, professional and in line with relevant University and partner health services processes.Supporting the implementation of the Regional Training Hubs programs in Cairns.Providing administrative support to the NQRTH Program Manager, Managers and Coordinators.Ensuring stakeholders receive a positive experience and have their needs met on an ongoing basis by providing well-informed, customer-focused services and information.Contributing to a high-performance culture within the clinical training function, ensuring timely and efficient responses to enquiries, informed by administration policies and procedures.QUALIFICATIONS, SKILLS AND EXPERIENCECompletion of certificate or diploma level qualifications and extensive experience or degree qualifications or a combination of relevant education and training.Experience providing sound administrative support preferably in a health setting.Effective customer service skills in managing multiple inquiries, providing information, exercising confidentiality and discretion.Routine organisational problem-solving skills, with the ability to accomplish tasks as directed.Demonstrated effective verbal communication and interpersonal skills with a proven ability to maintain effective working relationships with people from a variety of backgrounds.Additional InformationThe successful candidate will be offered shifts during periods of high work volume, planned and unplanned leave, and in the lead-up to, and during major NQRTH events.About Northern Queensland Regional Training HubsThe Northern Queensland Regional Training Hubs (NQRTH) connects medical students, interns and junior doctors with opportunities and resources to create a supportive and clear path to specialist training in our regions.
