About the Role
Are you passionate about leveraging and managing data to drive decisions in the of oil and gas industry?Santos is looking for 3 x Senior Subsurface Data Specialists to enhance the delivery and quality of Subsurface Geological, Geophysical & Engineering Data for the Eastern Australia and PNG Division.These roles are vital in ensuring high-quality and readily available subsurface GG&E data for asset teams, to lead and support data improvement initiatives and projects, collaborating with function staff as the asset representative when required.Key accountabilities include:
1. Expertise Delivery: Provide recognised expertise in sourcing, validating, ingesting, curating, and presenting subsurface GG&E data (including operated, non-operated, and third-party data) in compliance with company standards and processes.
2. Data Management: Maintain master data stores for subsurface GG&E data and advocate for process improvement opportunities in data management.
3. Documentation: Prepare and maintain documentation for essential subsurface GG&E data administration tasks and workflows.
4. Data Quality Improvement: Enhance the quality of existing data by undertaking data management project work as prescribed by the Asset and/or Function.
5. Data Distribution & Regulatory Compliance: Prepare and distribute data to joint venture parties, external vendors, and regulators (DEM, GSQ, etc.) as required.
About You To stand out in this role, we are looking for analytical, collaborative individuals with demonstrated skills and experience in:
6. Previous experience in oil and gas exploration and production, gained at a major oil and gas company or application vendor.
7. In-depth understanding of the IT infrastructure and data standards supporting subsurface GG&E applications, including PPDM, WITSML, PRODML, and RESQML; Petrosys DbMap, Petrel Studio. Wellview and Landfolio.
8. Expertise in data management.
9. Ideally have SQL and Python scripting skills and demonstrated proficiency in using databases, document management systems and dashboarding tools.
10. Proven experience in managing and leading projects.
11. High proficiency with Microsoft Office applications, including Excel, Word, PowerPoint; and Microsoft Power Apps and other data and workflow automation tools is highly desirable.
12. Good knowledge and understanding of subsurface GG&E practices and procedures.
13. PPDM Certification is highly desirable.
It is essential that you have tertiary qualifications in Geophysical, Geoscience or Data Science Degree and/or relevant industry experience in subsurface GG&E applications & data.
