We pride ourselves on being a supportive and collaborative team, passionate about hospitality and tourism, and committed to ensuring every guest enjoys a memorable stay in Cairns.About the Role:We are currently seeking an experienced, self-motivated and reliable Maintenance Manager to join the team on a full-time basis at Pacific Hotel Cairns. Reporting to the General Manager, you will be responsible for managing a team of maintenance staff, ensuring all hotel facilities and equipment are in excellent working condition, and coordinating preventive and corrective maintenance schedules while ensuring the safety and comfort of guests and team members. The ideal candidate will have strong leadership skills, a focus on guest satisfaction, and experience in hotel maintenance.Key Responsibilities:Oversee the entire workflow and logistics of all jobs, including reactive, planned, and proactive tasks, ensuring both technical and engineering aspects are managed efficiently, as well as handling financial and operational responsibilities.Liaising with the hotel operations team regarding all necessary repairs and preventative maintenance in guest rooms and public areas.Lead and develop a team of maintenance professionals, ensuring productivity and the safe and effective use of equipment, machinery and chemicals.Overseeing and reviewing all maintenance systems, OHS and WHS compliance for the hotel including fire and electrical.Planning for and carrying out preventative maintenance throughout the hotel.Maintaining daily work records and preparing monthly maintenance reports.Planning and implementing solutions, managing productivity and overseeing the maintenance budget.Ensuring you are productive and competent in the safe and effective use of equipment, machinery and chemicals.Providing induction and supervision of external contractors when required.About You:Experience in a similar hands-on role within a hotel or high-rise building.A qualification or expertise in a relevant trade is highly regarded.Sound understanding of WHS, OH&S, and manual handling.Exceptional written and verbal communication.Excellent time management and organisational skills.Great attention to detail and proactive problem-solving skills.Flexibility to work outside of hours when required.Internal and external training and development opportunities including an online training platform.Career development opportunities within Oscars Group across 40 amazing venues.Employee Assistance Program.Mentoring from a strong team of hospitality professionals.Reward and recognition programs.Your application will include the following questions:Which of the following statements best describes your right to work in Australia?How many years' experience do you have as a maintenance manager?How many years of people management experience do you have?What's your expected annual base salary?How much notice are you required to give your current employer?Are you willing to undergo a pre-employment medical check?
