As an integral part of our hospital, the Animal Attendant will be responsible for providing basic animal care, ensuring cleanliness, and assisting with general hospital operations. This role requires a compassionate individual who enjoys working with animals and thrives in a fast-paced environment.Key Duties & Responsibilities Include:Animal Care & Husbandry:Feed, water, and monitor the well-being of patients.Prepare cages for incoming patients and assist with patient grooming and bathing as needed.Provide restraint for animals during procedures, under the supervision of veterinary staff.Transfer animals between different areas of the hospital, ensuring their comfort and safety.Observe patient behavior and report any concerns to the veterinary team.Hospital Cleanliness & Maintenance:Clean and disinfect animal wards, cages, and common areas.Ensure that all hospital areas (including consult rooms, treatment rooms, and staff areas) are clean, tidy, and well-stocked.Perform general cleaning tasks such as sweeping, mopping, and restocking supplies.Team Support:Assist veterinary nurses and veterinarians with their duties as needed.Provide a welcoming environment for clients and their pets.Support a high level of patient care by maintaining a clean and efficient working environment.QualificationsRequired Education:Minimum has completed year 10 at high school.Preferred completed Animal Studies II or III.Preferred applicant is currently studying or is wanting to study Veterinary Nursing Certificate IV.Basic computer knowledge required.Required Experience:Previous animal attendant and/or veterinary practice experience is desirable but not required.Demonstrated communication skills.If this sounds like you, please Apply Now or send your CV to .
