The Chamber of Minerals and Energy of WA (CME) is seeking a professional and proactive individual to join our team as the Digital Technologies—Program Assistant to support the delivery of an impactful education program. In this role, you will coordinate and support program activities, manage stakeholder relationships, and ensure the administrative function of the program operates smoothly.
This position requires strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to build positive relationships with key stakeholders. It is a unique opportunity, preferably based in Karratha, that provides flexibility and autonomy to primarily work from home, working up to 15 hours per week as a casual employee.
About the CME Digital Technologies Program
The CME Digital Technologies Program is a WA Digital Technologies curriculum-aligned, industry-education collaboration, co-designed to build foundation skills in Automation and Data Science for primary and high school students. Supported by CME members, Department of Education, and GROK Academy, the challenges are assisting West Australian teachers build knowledge, skills, and confidence in the delivery of the WA Digital Technologies Curriculum in classrooms across the state, while building essential digital technologies skills for students to use now and in their future. Imbedded with real-world context and examples, students learn not just how to code and use robots but understand the impact innovation and technology has in the resources sector, as well as other industries.
What will you be doing?
* Assist in the coordination and support of the Digital Technologies program including, but not limited to:
o Maintain and update the database of school contacts and program participants;
o Assist with the promotion of the education program across WA;
o Schedule and organise logistics for member engagement activities, including venue bookings, and catering as required;
o Liaise with schools to ensure all necessary permissions and forms are completed prior to activities.
* Manage key stakeholders, including Principals, Teachers, and Educators.
* Support CME’s Learning Coordinators with workshop planning, including the preparation of materials and resources.
* Coordinate PLIS event registration with Department of Education Curriculum Priorities.
* Manage workshop registrations and ensure participant information is accurate and up to date.
* Post-workshop administration, including attendance register and PD recognition certificates.
* Maintain accurate records, including attendance data, feedback, and reports on program activities.
* Assist with creating reports, presentations, and other documentation for internal and external stakeholders.
* Support other administrative tasks as directed by the Program Manager.
* Undertake occasional travel to schools and workshop venues.
What are we looking for in you?
* Relevant experience in a program assistant or administrative role, preferably within the education or community sectors.
* Familiarity with coordinating events, workshops, or similar activities.
* Familiarity with working with internal and external stakeholder management, and sponsorship/partnership contracts.
* Exceptional organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines.
* Strong communication skills, both written and verbal.
* Proficient in the Microsoft Office Suite, and database management.
* High attention to detail and commitment to accuracy.
* A valid driver's licence, and working with children check.
