The Role
As the Digital Campaign and Communications Officer, you will be responsible for championing the interests of children and advocating for a society that places children at the forefront of its concerns. Working closely with the Development Executive, you will drive VCI's media strategy, create visually appealing content, and engage with diverse stakeholders across government, policy, academia, and business.
A Few Specifics
1. Develop, implement, and oversee a comprehensive media strategy for VCI, including crafting compelling content, using tools like Canva or Adobe, and ensuring distribution to key stakeholders in government, policy, academia, and business.
2. Produce high-quality written pieces on a range of pertinent topics, including societal attitudes toward children, children's rights and well-being, policy, and current affairs. Publish these on various platforms.
3. Formulate and execute a digital campaign strategy aligned with VCI's priorities, encompassing tactical planning and platform management via tools like Action Network or Nation Builder.
4. Develop and implement VCI's broader communications strategy to enhance awareness of the organization's mission. Oversee and optimize the organization's social media presence, strategically expanding visibility and impact. Collaborate with the Child Poverty Reduction Act campaign leadership team to implement campaign tactics.
5. Provide direction and supervision to interns and volunteers with support from the Development Executive, fostering a collaborative and productive work environment.
6. Plan, promote, and execute events in consultation with the Development Executive, including producing event materials and reconciling financial reports for funding agreements.
About You
1. Tertiary Qualifications in Communications, Media Studies, or a related field.
2. Highly developed written communication skills, including demonstrated ability to prepare quality written content (media releases, grant applications, briefing papers, social media content, etc.).
3. Previous experience in event planning and/or project management.
4. Proven experience in media relations, advocacy, and communications.
5. Strong interpersonal skills and a demonstrated ability to work effectively with senior staff and sector leaders.
6. Strong understanding of social media platforms, content creation, and strategy.
