Arise Christian College is excited to be seeking expressions of interest for the appointment of a core class teacher of a Primary or Secondary teacher for 2025. Our Story Arise Christian College is a school for a specific purpose which exists to empower students with mild to moderate intellectual disabilities and students with a lower-level Autism diagnosis. But we don’t think of Arise as simply a school for students with disabilities. Arise is for students with unique abilities, abilities we nurture, abilities that we grow, and abilities that become the path to a child’s future success as they grow into a valuable and contributing member of society. At the heart of Arise is a focus on student learning and capabilities, with Literacy foundations and skills fundamental to the growth and development of students. Arise Christian College is located within purpose-built modern facilities within the grounds of Maitland Christian School. We cater for students from Kindergarten – Year 12. A committed Christian actively involved in their local church; Living out a strong bible based faith in line with the foundational beliefs and doctrines of Maitland Christian School Limited; The capacity to further develop a transformational Christian Education integrated into the curriculum and delivered with an increasing missional focus and outworking. A relational and empowering teacher, able to actively contribute to a team growing a culture of excellence; The ability to relate well to staff, students, parents and the broader community; A teacher willing to learn, grow and be coached in their understanding and delivery of quality Christian Education; Experience in delivering quality teaching practices, particularly in Literacy and Numeracy, based on an evidenced-based quality teaching framework with explicit teaching foundations. A teacher with a solid understanding of best practice in differentiating curriculum outcomes for students with diverse learning needs requiring extra assistance and reasonable adjustments up to and including a substantial or extensive level. A teacher with the ability to implement NESA syllabi and teaching programs to support secondary students working on life skill curriculum outcomes (secondary teachers only). A teacher who is excited about being instructionally coached to facilitate their growth in effecting improved students learning outcomes, both in their class and across the Primary School; A collaborative team member, able to work collectively in building the capacity of the Primary team of educators; An understanding of Christian Education in the context of a ministry of a local Church; The ability to operate in a strengths-based framework and to develop staff and student culture; The capacity to be part of the implementation of a Christian Studies program deepening students in their understanding of the Bible; A teacher with flexibility and innovation to operate as part of a team implementing a differentiated learning environment for Literacy and Numeracy, expediting and supporting student learning outcomes using data-informed practice; Well-developed communication, administration and interpersonal skills. Selection Process Following the closure of applications, the School’s Selection Committee will consider applications and prepare a shortlist of candidates for interview. The School may move more quickly to interview highly suitable applicants. It is expected that at least one round of interviews will be undertaken with the successful applicant appointed to the School staff, commencing duties at the beginning of Term One 2025. Salary Salary will align with NSW Christian Schools Teaching Staff Multi-Enterprise Agreement 2020-2023 at the successful applicant’s level of responsibility and experience. Have questions?
