Summary We are seeking an experienced and proactive Risk and Governance Manager to lead risk management, governance, and compliance within a well-respected aged care organisation. This senior leadership role is vital in driving care improvements, supporting accreditation, and ensuring adherence to regulatory frameworks while fostering a culture of excellence across the organisation. Responsibilities Oversee, implement, and sustain quality systems in collaboration with the General Manager and report directly to the Chief Executive Officer. Assist the CEO and General Manager in responding to requests from regulatory bodies including Coroner requests, WorkSafe and the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission (ACQ&SC). Provide guidance, mentorship, and support to Facility Managers to ensure compliance with Accreditation Standards and governance requirements, including participating in Site Audits conducted by the Aged Care Quality & Safety Commission. Analyse areas for improvement and identify compliance gaps, offering actionable recommendations to the General Manager and driving necessary enhancements. Conduct clinically focused workplace investigations in collaboration with Managers, as well as the People & Culture Manager and General Manager. Ensure policies, procedures, and forms are consistently updated to align with the Aged Care Act and quality standards. Provide leave coverage for the General Manager when required. Selection Criteria: Leadership and Governance Experience: Proven leadership in risk management, governance, and compliance, within the aged care sector. Strong ability to mentor and guide teams through accreditation and regulatory processes. Regulatory and Compliance Expertise: In-depth knowledge of aged care standards, legislation, and risk management frameworks. Experience managing audits, incident reporting, and external regulatory communication. Analytical and Communication Skills: Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify trends and recommend effective risk mitigation strategies. Excellent verbal and written communication skills for engaging with stakeholders, staff, and regulators. Qualifications: Essential: AHPRA Registered Nurse. Desirable: Tertiary qualifications in governance, risk management, or a related field.
