HR Consultant Portfolio : People and Culture Grade : VPS5 Salary Range : $109,730 - $132,764 Position Status : Ongoing ( PERM ) Position Summary: In this exciting role, you will be a key player in the People & Culture team, offering expert advice, guidance, and unwavering support to both management and staff across the organisation. You'll be instrumental in shaping a positive and thriving workplace culture by driving the success of our clients employee relations, workplace culture, recruitment health, safety, and wellbeing programs, while also overseeing payroll operations as needed. Your strategic insights into employee relations, dispute resolution, and workplace injury matters will help foster an environment of collaboration and growth, as you lead the implementation of impactful P&C policies and initiatives. Key Accountabilities: Provide expert advice and support to managers on all people and culture matters, ensuring alignment with organisational strategies, policies, and procedures. Build and maintain strong relationships with managers and staff, promoting a consultative partnership that drives positive outcomes. Offer strategic advice on employee relations, dispute resolution, and workplace health and safety, collaborating with the Manager, People Services and Advisory on complex issues. Support the implementation of the Wellbeing Program and Employee Assistance Program. Ensure compliance with the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement, providing guidance on terms and conditions for staff, executives, and statutory appointees. Contribute to process enhancements, develop new policies, and manage P&C projects to ensure timely and effective delivery of outcomes. Assist with recruitment processes and workforce planning. Ensure all internal records and data are up-to-date and accurate. Provide regular reporting and updates to the Manager, People Services and Advisory on key people-related issues. Key Selection Criteria: Strong understanding of the Victorian Public Service Enterprise Agreement and relevant state and federal employment, IR, and OH&S legislation. Demonstrated experience in providing strategic advice on P&C, ER, and health, safety, and wellbeing matters. Excellent communication skills, with the ability to address complex and sensitive issues clearly and confidently. Strong conceptual and analytical skills, capable of providing business-focused solutions to problems. Proven ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders in a dynamic environment. Excellent business acumen with experience managing P&C projects and prioritising tasks effectively. Relevant Knowledge and Experience: Tertiary qualifications in Human Resources or a related field, or substantial work experience in a similar role. Knowledge of Victorian Government processes and organisational structures is advantageous. Experience in employee relations and performance management is highly regarded.
