This is an exciting opportunity to work with an industry leader and be instrumental in winning major civil engineering projects across a broad range of industry sectors.About the OPPORTUNITYThe role is suited to an industry professional who brings previous engineering experience, together with extensive industry knowledge and commercial acumen.Reporting to the Estimating Manager and working closely with our experienced Bid Team, Senior Executives, and Project Management teams, this role will primarily focus on the development and submission of various tenders for civil projects nationally.The Estimator will work with the estimating team to ensure the accuracy and competitiveness of the tendered price as well as to provide technical advice into tenders. This technical input is across a broad range of submissions and tenders that include major power and renewable energy projects, infrastructure and public realm projects, roads and bridge upgrades, and the construction of water and mining projects.The Job - Expected:Manage a range of tenders / bid submissions, working on the details and performing 1st principal estimating.Client interface lead, continuing to develop relationships with both new and existing customers.Reviewer for major project estimates and internal reporting.Managing project delivery risk on large infrastructure projects, as well as providing in-depth knowledge of client systems and risk management frameworks.Developing an effective work method and applying systems, with an ongoing effort to improve the quality of work outputs.Identify commercial risks and advantages in the tender / bid process.Manage a broad range of supplier relationships, ensuring competitive price and timely delivery.Attend site visits for scoping tender works and attend tender briefings.Skills and experienceAbout You:Formal qualifications in Civil Engineering, Building or related disciplines.Detail-oriented with the ability to undertake a critical overview of contract conditions and specifications, quantity verification, staging, and construction methodologies.Good working knowledge of Civil Engineering project works for power projects, including renewable energy, roads and bridge construction, general infrastructure including public realm and construction projects.Able to produce detailed and accurate work, and to compile competitive and concise tender packages.
