Position Title: Ngurrawaana Community Operations ManagerLocation: WA-based working remotely/ from home, with travel to Ngurrawaana as requiredEmployment Type: Full-time, 12-month contract with the possibility of extension (3-month probation period)Salary Package: $120,000+ per annum plus superannuation About Ngurrawaana Community:Ngurrawaana, meaning "a place of homecoming," is the only permanent Yindjibarndi community located on ancestral lands in the Pilbara region of WA, 70km from Roebourne.It is a place with deep historical and cultural significance, established in 1982 as part of the homeland movement.Today, Ngurrawaana is home to 20-30 residents and supports a larger transient population.It stands as a proud testament to Yindjibarndi resilience, vision, and cultural strength.Role Overview:Ngurrawaana Group Aboriginal Corporation (NGAC) is seeking a dynamic, solutions-focused Community Operations Manager to lead the governance, systems, and community-driven programs of this vibrant and growing remote Aboriginal community.This is a hands-on leadership role for someone passionate about empowering Aboriginal communities and driving growth.As the Operations Manager, you will help deliver the Ngurrawaana Strategic Community Plan, oversee the establishment of financial, governance, and operational systems, and support the planning and delivery of key projects and activities for the benefit of the community.This role also involves advocating for the community with key stakeholders, including government agencies and service providers.Key Responsibilities: Establish and manage systems, procedures, and financial structures to support community operations.Implement the Ngurrawaana Strategic Community Plan and deliver action plans in line with community needs.Manage operational, financial, and governance requirements, ensuring compliance with ORIC and other regulatory bodies.Lead key community projects and activities, from planning to execution.Advocate for the community with stakeholders, ensuring access to resources and services.Support and supervise community staff, fostering a productive and positive work environment.Maintain strong relationships with community members, corporations, and partners. Minimum Requirements: Relevant qualifications or experience in financial, operational, and/or community management.Strong interpersonal, written communication, and organisational skills.Proven ability to handle sensitive information confidentially.Flexibility to manage changing priorities and meet tight deadlines.High level of financial acumen and experience in budgeting and financial management.Experience in leading teams and managing projects in a community setting.Ability to travel and work remotely as needed.Proficiency in Microsoft Office and financial software such as Xero or MYOB.Understanding of the unique challenges facing Aboriginal communities.Experience working with Aboriginal Corporations or community organisations.
