Overall Responsibilities:
1. Lead the development and execution of test plans and test cases for complex software applications to ensure product quality
2. Design, implement, and maintain comprehensive test automation frameworks
3. Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure quality throughout the software development lifecycle
4. Mentor junior test engineers and provide guidance on best testing practices
5. Conduct advanced testing phases, including system, integration, and performance testing
6. Troubleshoot, track, and document all issues discovered during testing and follow through to resolution
7. Analyze test results, generate detailed reports, and present findings to stakeholders
8. Proactively suggest improvements to software usability and performance based on testing insights
9. Stay current with new testing tools and test strategies
Experience:
10. 5+ years of experience in a software testing role with a proven track record of success as a Senior Test Engineer
11. Extensive knowledge of software QA methodologies, tools, and processes
12. Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
13. Hands-on experience with automated testing tools
14. Strong knowledge of SQL and scripting
15. Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
16. Familiarity with Agile frameworks and regression testing is a must
Day-to-Day Activities:
17. Develop and execute test cases, scripts, plans, and procedures (manual and automated)
18. Diagnose defects and track them from discovery to resolution
19. Partner with engineering teams to refine software testing criteria
20. Review user interfaces for consistency and functionality
21. Identify, isolate, and track bugs throughout testing
22. Identify any potential problems that users might encounter
23. Review user feedback for potential system improvements
Qualifications:
24. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related field
25. Advanced certification in software testing (ISTQB, CSTE, etc.) is preferred
26. Thorough understanding of SDLC, specifically automated QA processes in agile development environments
