About the Role As the Business Concierge Officer, you'll be the go-to person for local businesses connecting with Council. You'll guide new and existing businesses through permit and licensing applications, regulatory processes, and accessing grants, gathering insights from various Council departments to provide them with the support they need. Your work will foster innovation, investment, and collaboration within our business community, positioning East Gippsland as a business-friendly hub with a thriving local economy. Key Responsibilities Create and maintain connections across Council departments to gather the information businesses need, while building capacity to leverage these internal relationships when needed. Deliver high-quality, tailored support and guidance to local businesses regarding Council services and requirements. Create positive working relationships with stakeholders, industry bodies, and community groups through direct engagement. Project managing multiple initiatives simultaneously, monitor outcomes and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement. Advocate for East Gippsland as a commerce-friendly region while collaborating on the creation and evaluation of business support programs that align with Council's Economic Development Strategy. What we’re looking for (Key Selection Criteria) Experience and knowledge of the operational needs and challenges of business, particularly small and medium enterprises. Knowledge and experience relating to economic development and/or understanding of Local Government policies, regulations and processes related to business development. Demonstrated experience maintaining productive working relationships with a diverse range of stakeholders, including local businesses, business associations, Industry and Government. Strong organisational and project/program management skills with the ability to manage multiple initiatives, monitor outcomes and provide data-driven recommendations for improvement. Demonstrated commitment to providing high-quality customer service, with the ability to problem solve. Willingness and capability to travel within the municipality, ensuring accessibility and visibility of the Business Concierge role. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Customer Relationship Management software and project management tools. This is a full-time, ongoing position based in Bairnsdale. If successful, you will need to undertake a police check.
