The Role:
Based at our Head Office in Kilsyth and reporting to the Engineering Manager for the OE Business, we are seeking a Senior Product Development Engineer. In this hands-on role, you will leverage your proven experience within our collaborative and dynamic team to drive continued growth. This position offers a unique opportunity to work directly with OE customers on key multi-year projects, making a significant impact on our initiatives.
Key responsibilities:
* Fostering collaboration among team members and stakeholders to help ensure timely delivery of project goals and drive overall success.
* CAD design development for key multiyear OE partner programs.
* Working with CATIA and Solidworks to generate complex 3D CAD models and 2D engineering drawings.
* Parametric modelling for new vehicle components.
* Working on projects such as roof racks, bull bars and others for OE customers.
* Design involving extruded aluminium, resin moulding, and pressed and fabricated sheet metal structures to a high OE standard.
* Translate surface data to functional products meeting OE level Design Validation.
* Design optimisation through Geometric Tolerancing (GD&T).
* Confident end-to-end from design to setting up test rigs and running tests.
* Regular customer interaction and managing timelines to customer schedule.
About you:
* Engineering Degree and have worked in or with an OE automotive business.
* Strong proficiency in parametric 3D CAD modelling.
* Confident use of CATIA essential, Solidworks skills would be advantageous.
* Thorough understanding of Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing.
* Skills in structural and resin parts/systems. Bring a knowledge of material properties.
* Proven analytical skills with a focus on innovation.
* A self-starter, confident with customer interaction and organised to meet customer timing plans.
* Drive, enthusiasm and focus on continuous improvement to achieve outstanding results.
