Darwin Shipstores is looking for a casual, experienced Retail and Warehouse Assistant.

Who are we? Darwin Shipstores is a locally owned business established in 1980. Located at Frances Bay Fisherman's Wharf, we supply a wide range of quality products, from boat maintenance supplies to safety equipment, serving both the recreational and commercial maritime industries.

What will you be doing? As with any retail role, your responsibilities go beyond the written list. However, this is what excites you! You are a hands-on person, always ready to roll up your sleeves and tackle whatever tasks come your way. With that in mind, here are some of the duties you'll handle day to day:
Processing EFTPOS, cash, and customer account sales, ensuring accurate and efficient transactions. You'll also handle returns and exchanges per company policy, always providing excellent customer service.Assisting the manager with maintaining stock levels, identifying fast and slow-selling items, suggesting promotional ideas, and flagging when stock needs replenishing.Ensuring the store is well-presented—neat, tidy, with fully stocked shelves and a welcoming atmosphere.Interacting with customers and suppliers, handling inquiries, and providing assistance as needed.Supporting the administration and accounts teams with tasks related to shipping, receiving, and inventory management.Does this sound like you? Consistently punctual and reliable, able to follow instructions and take initiative.A clear and confident communicator, both written and verbal.Exceptional administration, time management, and customer service skills.Detail-oriented, accurate, and skilled at problem-solving.Comfortable with technology, able to confidently operate an EFTPOS machine (bonus if you're familiar with inventory stock control systems).Able to work efficiently both independently and as part of a team.We strongly encourage Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander applicants to apply.
