Step into a key leadership role as a Workplace Health and Safety (WHS) / Compliance Manager, where you'll oversee WHS systems, compliance frameworks, and integrated management systems, making a lasting impact across the business.
In this role, you'll manage certifications including ISO 45001 (Safety), ISO 14001 (Environmental), and ISO 9001 (Quality).
You'll lead prequalification / accreditation processes for OFSC, TMR, NHVR, NHVAS, as well as for major clients such as Stockland, Peet, QM Group, Mirvac, Dennis Family Trust, AVID, and TMR.
You'll also drive our Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP), sustainability initiatives, and ensure compliance across all WHS areas in civil construction operations, workshops, and fleets.

Key Responsibilities Core Focus – Management and leadership of WHS and IMS System, Accreditation, Prequals and More Drive WHS compliance across all business units including sites, workshops, and fleet.Manage Shadforth's Integrated Management System (IMS), ensuring alignment with ISO 45001, 14001, and 9001.Oversee our internal system (ShadConnect) as the business's primary compliance, safety, and reporting platform.Ensure continuous improvement of WHS, environmental, and quality systems.Lead incident investigations, serious incident reviews, and root cause analysis.Coordinate internal and external audits, site inspections, and contractor reviews.Lead team training, toolbox talks, monthly WHS meetings, and QPR reporting.Mentor and lead a team of WHSE Advisors, Compliance Administrators, Environmental and Sustainability Officers.Maintain ISO certifications (45001, 14001, 9001) and ensure audit readiness.Oversee and Manage the prequalification processes for OFSC, NHVR, NHVAS, TMR, and major clients.Lead and implement the business's Reconciliation Action Plan (RAP) and First Nations engagement initiatives.Support environmental compliance, erosion and sediment control (ESC), waste management and sustainability initiatives.What You'll Bring Advanced Diploma or Degree in WHS or related field (highly regarded).Lead Auditor qualifications in ISO 45001, 14001, 9001.Strong track record managing IMS and WHS systems in civil construction.Certification in incident investigation methodologies (ICAM preferred).Experience and thorough understanding of TMR, OFSC, NHVR/NHVAS, and client prequalification systems and requirements.Leadership experience managing WHSE teams and large-scale system rollouts.Solid understanding of WHS regulations, risk frameworks, and compliance tools.Ability to develop high performing teams.Thorough understanding of Reconciliation action plans and passion to drive first nations engagement throughout the business.Confident communicator with the ability to present to Executive and Corporate stakeholders.Why You'll Enjoy Working at Shadforth Join a leading civil contractor with strong systems and a people-first culture.Play a key role in shaping safety, quality, and environmental excellence.Competitive salary package and long-term career growth.Opportunity to lead real change through system improvements and sustainability programs.About Us
