The role of Operations Assistant is a hands-on role to assist with performance of the operations department. The growth of the business is pivotal from this area through developing relationships throughout the industry. Working hours could vary at times, depending on various projects. The role is to be performed with high level attention to detail and accuracy.
* Organising drivers and physically assisting with collection and deliveries of shipments
* Packing of shipments to prescribed standard operating procedures
* Assistance in the management and supervision of jobs as they are booked by customers
* Thorough monitoring of all shipments from collection to final delivery
* Packaging, documentation and labelling to IATA regulations
* Prepare all necessary freight documentation
* Arranging on-forward movement
* Dealing with Customs and Department of Agriculture
* Arranging clearance and delivery through offices and agents
* Assistance in the warehouse preparing temperature-controlled units for export

Skills and experience
* Experience within the logistics industry
* Experience with EDI is required
* You must be able to work within a team with minimal supervision
* Attention to detail, computer and communication skills a must
* You must be always willing to assist the team with a can do attitude
