About the Role
We have an exciting opportunity for an approachable and caring qualified Primary Classroom Teacher to join the supportive team at St Lawrence’s Catholic Primary School in Coonabarabran, NSW. The teacher in a Catholic school is someone who can encourage development and nurture the personal, spiritual and educational growth of each and every student.
We are seeking a Primary Classroom Teacher who understands and commits to supporting the mission and ethos of Catholic education within the school by:
1. Creating a learner-centred, supportive, and cooperative learning environment aligned with curriculum policies.
2. Developing and implementing quality curriculum programs using effective teaching methods; assess and report student progress.
3. Using inclusive teaching strategies and adapt practices for equitable education.
4. Analysing student assessment data to identify learning barriers and encourage improvement.
5. Engaging in ongoing professional development to enhance student outcomes.
6. Collaborating with school leadership, staff, and contribute to school life.
7. Providing student supervision and assist in organising extracurricular activities.
About You (Selection Criteria)
We are seeking someone who can address the following selection criteria:
1. Hold relevant tertiary qualifications and accreditation to teach in NSW.
2. Religious Education Qualifications (desirable)
3. Knowledge & use of assessment strategies
4. Capacity to use personalised learning & differentiation to support learners in the classroom
5. Effective classroom and playground management skills
6. Demonstrated commitment and capacity to actively contribute to a broad range of school activities
7. The ability to develop positive relationships both inside and outside the classroom, based on mutual respect, patience and understanding
8. Ability and willingness to accept and implement policy directives and agreed practices
9. Attendance at staff meetings
10. Commitment to the values and mission of Catholic Education Diocese of Bathurst and the capacity to integrate the Church’s teachings into all aspects of curriculum
