We are seeking a full-time Equine Ambulatory Vet to join our team.
Who are we?
The Ballarat Veterinary Practice Equine Clinic is a privately owned practice renowned for our expertise in equine medicine, surgery and diagnostic imaging. The clinic was established in 1945 and is one of the largest and most experienced equine hospitals in the Southern Hemisphere.
The Ballarat Veterinary Practice Equine Clinic provides complete care for sport and pleasure horses, and we have dedicated equine surgical specialists, plus a team of veterinarians working in an ambulatory and hospital bound capacity.
What are we looking for?
Ballarat Veterinary Practice Equine Clinic currently has a vacancy for an Equine Ambulatory Veterinarian at our sister clinic in Warrnambool where an experienced team of equine vets offer dedicated equine veterinary services across southwest Victoria.
Duties will involve a full range of equine ambulatory responsibilities, including medicine, lameness exams and workups, surgeries such as stitch-ups and castrations, wound management, dentals, eye exams, health and husbandry advice, race meetings and reproduction work during season. Potential to develop in racehorse work.
We are looking for veterinarian with 1+ years of experience in the equine field, or a veterinarian with mixed-practice experience who is seeking a move into an equine only role. We will also consider applications from confident post-internship equine veterinarians.

We value work/life balance and so there’s some flexibility in hours available in this full-time position as you can choose to complete either a 4-day work week or a 9-day fortnight. There’s also a fair rota through after hours, with a 1:5 arrangement.

Minimum Requirements:
* Must be registerable to practice in Victoria, Australia (non-registerable veterinarians will not be considered)
* Must be eligible to apply for a visa to live and work in Australia which includes relevant police and medical checks
* Previous experience in an equine ambulatory role will be highly regarded
