Mueller Automotive in Cairns, Far North Queensland, is looking for a qualified Accounts Clerk to join a busy mechanical workshop in a full-time, onsite capacity. In this role, you will support the financial operations while ensuring exceptional service to customers regarding parts and inventory.Monday to Friday full time.Hours from 7.30 am till 4 pm. Benefits: * Busy and fast-paced work environment* 5-day working week with opportunity for overtime* Friendly and supportive work environment* Full-time contracts* Over award wages apply: salary ranges $65,000 - 75,000 per annum, dependent on your level of experience The successful applicant will have: Strong analytical and numerical abilities Trustworthy with a systematic approach to problem-solving Reliable, punctual, and dependable with excellent communication skills Previous experience in accounting and parts interpretation preferred Duties: Prepare and process documentation for accounts payable and receivable, ensuring accurate reconciliation of invoices and payments for workshop-related expenses. Analyse and investigate costs associated with repairs and labor, maintaining records for budgeting and profit/loss calculations. Allocate expenditures to budget accounts and summarise expenses for reporting. Prepare bank reconciliations and maintain records of standard costs for materials and supplies used in the workshop. Track cost variations and compile data for operating budgets and financial reports. Maintain accurate inventory records, assist in stock management, and conduct regular audits. Provide excellent customer service by addressing inquiries about availability, pricing, and repair options. Process orders efficiently, ensuring accuracy in item numbers, quantities, and pricing. Offer technical advice on compatibility and usage to customers and workshop staff. Communicate with suppliers to source necessary items, negotiate pricing, and manage relationships. Promote additional services and products based on customer needs to enhance their overall experience. Maintain detailed records of customer interactions, sales transactions, and inventory movements. Highly desirable and a must: Experience working in an extremely fast-paced environment with a high volume of inquiries and transactions in a fast-growing and expanding organisation. Experience working in a fast-paced similar role in the automotive industry. MUST have an exceptional understanding of the automotive industry during severe skills shortages in the industry. MUST have a love for all things automotive with added exceptional understanding, appreciation, high respect, and accuracy for spare parts interpreting/data entering, accountability, and accurate accounting processing. MUST have love, patience, and personality working with trainees and apprentices, especially of the latest generation.
